As businesses embrace the cloud, the complexities of ERP implementations and migrations grow in tandem. Recently, I had the chance to sit down with two of Doppio’s leaders— CEO William Kragie and Senior Director of Project Delivery Denise Fuchs—to discuss the trends, challenges, and future of Infor CloudSuite implementations and migrations.

Trends in Cloud Migrations: Reflections and Insights

Reflecting on the past decade, William highlighted the evolution in ERP strategies. “Our key focus has been on developing standardized interfaces and model-driven architectures,” William shared. Doppio’s approach minimizes technical debt by leveraging cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS models that support automatic software updates, in many ways simplifying the complexities of legacy systems. Infor has leveraged their close partnership with Amazon AWS to more than double their CloudSuite customers, over 18,000 businesses worldwide, and streamline their industry specific processes with greater agility and security.

The move to agile, modular architectures, not only reduces complexity but provides clients with faster, more adaptable ERP solutions. These solutions are further enhanced by new ML and AI capabilities that help companies identify potential areas of efficiency and take action to unlock value.

Overcoming Common Implementation Challenges

Senior Director of Project Delivery, Denise Fuchs, then addressed some of the most common complexities and misconceptions surrounding CloudSuite implementations and migrations. With experience across industries like food & beverage, fashion, and aerospace, she pointed out that data integrity remains a top concern. “We’ve built tools that validate and cleanse data, ensuring accuracy and reliability throughout the migration,” Denise noted.

“Moving to the cloud isn’t just about the technology; it’s about transforming how you use the features and functions in CloudSuite, to really maximize your return on investment,” Denise shared. We’ve seen tremendous value unlocked by clients who not only move to CloudSuite but leverage the migration to streamline processes and increase integrations and automations.

A common misconception, she added, is that only Infor can handle migrations; however, as an Infor Alliance Partner, Doppio is capable of taking full ownership of CloudSuite implementations and migrations. From data migration, customizations, integrations, and project management, we ensure smooth migrations by working closely with Infor CloudOps.

Doppio’s Proven Project Methodology

To ensure successful project delivery, Doppio uses a Lean Agile framework. Denise walked me through the proven methodology, which starts with early planning and collaboration. We align the entire project team around the key milestones, scope, and deliverables. Then we move through tailored solution design, iterative sprint-based development, and rigorous testing. Doppio’s methodology helps us to reduce risk, avoid surprises, and keep schedules and budgets on track.

In the final stages, we ensure that data is refreshed in the CloudSuite testing and training environments, allowing clients to validate systems in real-time before final deployment. Following go-live, our Hypercare phase provides dedicated support, quickly addressing any issues to ensure a smooth transition.

While we’ve developed this methodology based on our experience, it’s important to keep in mind that our flexible approach also allows us to blend methodologies to suit a client’s specific needs, combining best practices for a streamlined, client-centric process.

The Future of ERP: Industry-Specific AI and Automation

Looking to the future, William discussed the transformative potential of AI and automation in ERP. He highlighted that the coming AI-powered tools from Infor will empower clients to optimize processes, identify inefficiencies, and automate repetitive tasks. Doppio’s approach increasingly focuses on industry-specific ERP solutions, which can meet the unique needs of sectors like manufacturing, distribution, food & beverage, and more, supporting growth by eliminating the drag of legacy systems.

Process Intelligence and RPA will unlock value for clients in the near future, facilitating rapid adaptations in ERP functionality and enabling scalable solutions with minimal customizations. Doppio’s unique position within the Infor ecosystem enables us to support clients’ cloud journeys with agility and precision, helping them realize the full value of Infor CloudSuite.

Closing Thoughts

As Doppio continues to lead cloud implementations for Infor clients, we remain focused on helping businesses unlock the full potential of their ERP systems with industry-specific insights and forward-thinking strategies. Join us at the M3UGA Fall Conference in Kansas City at the end of October, where we’ll be sharing more on our mission to drive innovation through CloudSuite solutions and the powerful potential of ERP transformation.
